How To Build A Go Kart : Part 4 : Back Axle In this episode i will show u the back axle setup! Also you can view the steps on my website : thecomputerdewd.com Step 1 : Gather Up Parts -x2 Wheels (I Chose 12") -x2 Axle Hangers/Bearings (Must be same size as axle) -Axle (35-45" mine is 40") -Sprocket -Brake Disc Step 2 : Back axle hangers 2a. Place the axle hangers about 5" from the back of the go kart. 2b. Make marks where to drill. 2c. Using a drill, drill out the marks. 2d. Using some strong bolts, fasten them in place. Step 3 : Sprocket and Brake Disc placement. I just made a hub to attach the disc and sprocket to the axle. 3a. Weld a large washer or nut to the sprocket and brake disc. 3b. Weld the brake disc to the axle. Step 4 : Wheels 4a. Weld the 2 wheels to the ends of the axle. GYMKHANA 2.1, BLOCK vs DYRDEK

As seen on MTVs Rob Dyrdeks Fantasy Factory, Gymkhana 2.1 takes the epic cinematography and driving from DC Co-Founder and Rally Team Member Ken Block that youve come to expect from the Gymkhana videos and mixes in Rob Dyrdek in his comical and somewhat powerful miniature version of Blocks rally car. The two, who have worked together and been good friends since Dyrdek joined the DC skate team in 1995, decided to get the shifter car built and film the clip when Dyrdek made an appearance in the Gymkhana TWO video earlier this year. A custom mold was made to build the shifter car nearly identical to Kens Subaru WRX STI (except for the head-out-the-roof part). The team at Vermont SportsCar wrapped the shifter in the same graphics as Blocks competition rally car, and a custom fireproof, FIA certified driving suit just like Blocks was even made for Dyrdek. The Gymkhana 2.1 video features all the near run-overs, drifting, racing and shenanigans that occur when two unique individuals like Dyrdek and Block hit the tarmac in polar-opposite-sized whips. Fun With The Modded American Sportworks Carbide/Quantum 150cc (1080p)

This is just a video of me riding around our back field, jumping, doing some doughnuts, riding through our forest, riding through our ditch and flipping my ASW Carbide / Quantum 150. I got this a couple months ago and have done some mods to it, but eventually I plan on putting a nice motorcycle engine on it to give it some more balls. The mods I've done to it sofar are I've added flood lights to it, I've cut open and completely gutted the exhaust then welded it back together and put a bigger opening on the end, I've replaced the restrictive stock air box on it with a K&N air filter, I've re-jetted it, I've changed the clutch arm springs and torque springs, I've put a better spark plug in it and I put a high output coil on it. I think thats about it. :P It's a night and day difference from when it was is stock form and has enough power and speed to have some fun, but I still want alot more. So hopefully before the summer is over I'll get around to finding a good motorcycle engine and find time to make it work.

I bought a bunch of these engines to experiment with B20+ (20% Biodiesel) home Biodiesel production (for better lubricity). Heavy Duty 6hp HD300D max 4.4kW diesel engine. 296cc putting out 4kv of continuous output. 1" shaft turning clockwise from the fly wheel end. 3.5L (.925gal) capacity. Engine dry weight is 33kg or 72lbs. The motor as seen runs smoother at the higher rpm's. It is a beast with torque and is a great motor for the DIY person. I will post other applications for this motor in the future. The "Throttle Bracket" is spring loaded so you can set up a throttle cable to a handlebar or foot pedal if you like.

Driveline: Inner CV's are type 2 from a jetta, outer are jetta microstubs. 13 to 60 sprockets, geared for 105 mph top speed with 25 inch tires. High Speed Karting Accident (1997)

Q: Why did the guy in the red shirt just stand there? Why didn't he help? A: That man (Fred Perry) was about 80 years old when this incident happened. He was not a marshal, he was not part of the track crew and he was not part of the safety team. Fred was in charge of the pits. His job during the races was to keep track of who was exiting the track and going into the pit area. This accident happened right at the entrance to the pit area. Fred was old and didn't move around too well. Fred died about two and a half years later. --- Q: Why did it take so long for the medics to get to him? A: There is some discussion as to whether it took too long for help to arrive. I'll let you decided for yourself. Here are the response times: 13 seconds - Track crew 27 seconds - Track safety/rescue crew 90 seconds - City EMT Ambulance --- Q: Did the driver die? A: He received minor injuries (bruised heel & minor concussion) from this accident. Sadly he died about 9 years later due to a heart attack. --- Q: Why did they tend to the Kart before they tended to the driver? A: The were moving the Kart off the track to clear the way for emergency vehicles. --- Q: What kind of kart was this? A: These are 125cc shifter Karts. --- Q: Where was this? A: This was at Cajon Speedway in El Cajon, California. The track closed in 2005. --- Q: Why wasn't he wearing a seatbelt? A: These karts do not have seat belts. Seat belts would cause more injuries than they would prevent. It's better to be thrown ...

By adding a second caliper on the first master cylinder you will have a reduction of 50% braking power. The reason is the master brake cylinder has a certain capacity lets say 40cc. the disc caliper has a capacity say 40cc. By adding two brake calipers volume is now 80cc the master cylinder can only hope to compress the calipers up to 40cc. A very simple way to increase braking power on a vehicle is to upgrade to a larger master brake cylinder. Fieros upgrade braking by using Chevy Blazer master brake cylinders. Hooking up to a bleeder valve is not recommended since the valve is critical for removing air out of the braking system. A better way is to hard line the main line to a t-block then run to each caliper. using rigid tubing will increase the braking over the flex tubing that came with the kit.
